Hearing Aids

Finding a style and technology level of hearing aid that works for you is our priority

Hearing aids make a big difference in quality of life for those who suffer from hearing loss. By making it possible to once again hear sounds and discern conversation from background noise, hearing aids remove the isolation and depression that can come with hearing loss. Today’s technology has made hearing aids a great solution for a wide range of hearing issues. A hearing loss is usually more noticeable than a hearing aid.

What kind of hearing aid?

Hearing aids use a microphone, computer chip and receiver to amplify sound that the patient cannot hear. Styles may include:

  • Receiver in the canal, in which the hearing aid sits behind the ear and the speaker in the canal.
  • Behind the ear, in which the device is connected to a custom earmold, providing better results for those with severe hearing loss.
  • In the canal devices that are custom designed for patients and sit completely inside the canal.

Finding a style of hearing aid that works for you is our priority. Our audiologists understand that every patient has different needs and responds differently to hearing aid technology. Your trial period is crucial to getting your hearing aid adjusted to give you the best results. We encourage you to be patient and take the time necessary to get accustomed to the newness of a hearing aid, especially if you have struggled to hear for some time.

Advances in technology

New hearing aid technology has provided more options, more convenience and more comfort for hearing loss patients. Ask our experts about what is available in digital technology, including wireless hearing aids that can be adjusted using an app on your android or iphone, and precise fine tuning that provides a clearer signal as well as eliminating the feedback that was once common with hearing aids.

Ask our doctors about:

  • Rechargeable option – no tiny batteries
  • Two-week risk-free trial of hearing aids at no cost
  • Our full line of digital hearing aids
  • Hearing aids available in 6 technology/pricing levels from starter to premier
  • All-inclusive purchase, including warranty, service, repairs, and loss

Are two hearing aids better than one?

We recommend two hearing aids if you have hearing loss in both ears. Attempting to correct hearing in only one ear can lead to distortion of the sound and confusion locating the direction of the sound. Your brain uses the messages from both ears to understand speech. Correcting hearing in both ears will improve understanding of conversations, provide a wider range of hearing, and ensure safety when it comes to sound location.
